Led by Jordanian-Canadian singer, multi-instrumentalist, and composer Qais Khoury, Pinwheel Valley (formerly known as KAIS) channels the intricate layers of the human experience into a rich, genre-blurring sound. Fusing Indie Soul, mellow Alt-Rock, and textured Folktronica, they explore both the raw struggles and quiet beauty of existence — crafting music that seeks harmony between our deepest instincts and the relentless pressures of an ego-driven, late-stage capitalist world. Their sonic and lyrical landscapes shimmer between iridescent highs and soft, pastel-hued lows, offering listeners both confrontation and comfort.
Having toured across Vancouver, Toronto, and Seattle in 2016 and 2017, Pinwheel Valley has steadily built a reputation for artistic depth and integrity. Their early recognition includes an honorary mention at the 2016 International Songwriting Competition, a Best Out of Province nod at the 13th Toronto Independent Music Awards, and a Lyrics Finalist slot in the 2017 USA Songwriting Competition.
In 2020, they joined the esteemed London indie sync roster North Note and were spotlighted by BBC Radio London’s Robert Elms for their defining single Take Me Home. By 2025, they had cemented their place as Finalists in the International Acoustic Music Awards (AAA/Alternative category), while also claiming multiple Best Music Video awards at the New York Movie Awards, Vegas Movie Awards, and Swedish International Film Awards for their visually arresting works Abduction and Willow.
Now entering what many call their most transformative era, Pinwheel Valley continues to garner critical acclaim, earning praise from Clash Magazine, Earmilk, and Billboard Argentina. Their latest single Your Superman stormed onto the USA iTunes Alternative Songs Chart at No. 13, marking a significant milestone in their evolving journey.
Currently Pinwheel Valley creates from their secluded Mediterranean island home — a place surrounded entirely by sea, where the only way out is up. And up they go, as they push further into uncharted, soul-stirring territory.
“In a time when it is impossible to hear anything but aggravated polarised opinions, Pinwheel Valley's intellectually humanistic approach to music is the breath of fresh air that our souls are crying out for.”

“Take Me Home - A provocatively tender Indie Rock ballad for the homesick. Indie artist Pinwheel Valley has moved from strength to strength throughout their accoladed career, and have started to garner plenty of International hype for their provocatively intuitive approach to production.”
- A&R Factory
“Overall, a very impressive release from Pinwheel Valley but what’s even more impressive about Seven Shades of She”, is the fact that it is boundless in every sense as the artist pretty much morphs into a combination of quintessential artistry to produce an exquisite and progressive indie/soul album which for all the good reasons, stays in your head all day!”
- The Dope Approach
"It takes some serious reading between the anthemic uplifting lines to pull out the protestive fire that any establishment would be desperate to put out through fear of it cutting profit margins that are boosted by dull hiveminds. On the flip side of that, texturally, Hot Air Balloon is a dreamy, kaleidoscopic blister of bliss, which is all too welcome in these easy to lament times. Every time, Pinwheel Valley breeze back even better than the last time we heard his exploratively introspective tracks, which still come with that A-list radio-ready appeal, despite the seemingly infinite depth."
- A&R Factory
"Right from the start of his new single “Willow,” Pinwheel Valley manages to get us entranced with nostalgia and sadness, all distilled through an unspeakable beauty of sounds."
- Late Night Stereo
"There is pure heart and soul in the music that Pinwheel Valley creates and It’s clear that they put their life on the line for the craft. With the imminent release of ‘Abduction’ there will be no stopping Pinwheel Valley in bringing together their visions, making them such an exciting watch for 2022."
- Pressparty
"The titular “What If I,” is a powerful exploration of the human condition and a captivating journey from everyday to an ethereal sonic landscape."
- Celeb Mix
"The beauty of this triumphant single is in its honesty and persuasion. One can’t help but fall back in love with the story and the musical delivery from Pinwheel Valley as a collective group. This tale of triumph through tragedy is sure to resonate with new fans and avid listeners alike to anticipate what happens next in the musical narrative."
